Introduction to Yoga

Yoga

Yoga is a spiritual, mental and physical practice that has been around for years.

I have been practicing on and off for almost 30 years and re-discovered it again in 2011 when I took up Kundalini yoga which soon became my therapy. I found that it helped with my depression and I was inspired to become a yoga teacher myself.

The benefits of yoga are

  • improves your flexibility and balance
  • builds muscle strength
  • promotes calmness 
  • perfects your posture

To join the online yoga classes, you will need ZOOM, which is free to download. Once you have this please message me the dates you would like to join and you will receive an email about 30 inutes before class, inviting you to join the session. Just click on the link and I will be there!

PREPARING FOR YOUR PRACTICE

Wear comfy fitted clothes that are easy to move around in and something warm - a blanket or fleece - for relaxation and meditation.

Please bring your own yoga mat and any props you like - yoga blocks and straps. I do have a few spare if anyone needs them.

Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the start but feel free to come 10 minutes before if you can.

Please bring some water but most importantly, bring an open mind and enjoy!

REST AND RESTORE


Restorative Yoga is deep relaxation using lots of props for support in different poses. Please bring lots of blankets, bricks, pillows and cushions. There will be a lovely Yoga Nidra (yogic sleep) at the end.

Please arrive in good time to set yourself up !!
