Run with Jo

I would be happy to coach someone to achieve their own personal challenge - either 5K, 10K or half marathon - donations to charity.

I only go slowly though!!

Starting out

If you have never run before I would really recommend downloading The NHS Choices Couch to 5k App with Laura - it’s how I started and I found it really great !!

There are lots of other apps available with so many voices to choose from !!

Also it's a really good idea to join a local running club as this will help motivate and give you company while you run.

Jo's running tips

If you are just starting out running then I would say get the best pair of running shoes you can afford.

If you are planning to run half marathons or marathons I would suggest you have decent running shoes a size larger than normal as your feet will swell and this is when you can get blisters.

I would recommend going to a good running shop where they can watch you run and see what shoes are best for you. But trust your instincts and listen to what you need. For example I have lovely bunions so I always go for extra wide. Once you find a shoe that you like - it makes all the difference!

I also find knee and ankle supports are great and good socks too.

oh and don't forget to STRETCH !!
